Congratulations to Business Owners for Obama members and supporters

While Business Owners for Obama may have made only a small difference in the election, members and supporters should be proud of the contributions to President Barack Obama's election.

Nonetheless, even with the votes counted and the extent of the defeat, the Republican party is insisting on what the voters rejected, a fairy tale policy that lower taxes results in higher revenues.

We must all make our voices heard, as Americans and as business owners, an make it clear we support a balanced approach to tackling the budget deficits.

Compromise is what voters wanted, and compromise is not what Republicans are offering.

Business Owners for Obama believe we cannot afford to gamble on renewing policies that had such catastrophic results the first time. In fact, historically, Democratic presidents have always created more private-sector jobs than Republican president.

Those business owners include:

  • Jim Sinegal (above), co-founder of Costco
  • Austin Ligon, co-founder of CarMax
  • Bill Butcher, owner of Port City Brewing Company

The purpose of Business Owners for Obama is to increase awareness that many business owners support President Obama -- and fear a revival of policies that resulted in the worst economic collapse since the Great Depressions.
